Connoquenessing Township
Country homes, new construction and spacious lots
Homebuyers will find a wide variety of housing styles and options in Connoquenessing Township. “There’s a whole bunch of different stuff out there. There are older Butler County homes on larger pieces of land, and a bunch of developers have purchased farmland and done brand-new construction,” Smathers says. Ranch-style and split-level homes date to the mid-1900s and feature a mix of brick and vinyl siding. Most homes sit in the southeastern corner of the township around Evans City Road, but homebuyers can find custom-built properties with spacious lots further from the highway. “It’s in the country, so you can get some impressive lots over there. Some houses have multiple acres of land,” Bureman says. More recent construction includes the Shannon Mills subdivision, which has a mix of ranch-style patio homes and New Traditional builds. Home prices typically range from $275,000 for older ranch-style houses to $540,000 for new construction. The township has an overall CAP Index crime score of 1 out of 10, significantly lower than the national average of 4.Fresh produce at the Butler Farm Market
Evans City Road offers a quaint commercial corridor in the southeastern corner of Connoquenessing Township. The Butler Farm Market is a local favorite, supplying the community with fresh meat, seasonal produce and other grocery essentials since 1983. A rustic taproom at Missing Links Brewery provides a place for residents to sip craft beers, order pub grub and listen to live music every Friday night. Just across the street from the brewery is Debbie Lee’s Delight, a go-to spot for dessert with over 30 different flavors of ice cream and frozen yogurt. Debbie Lee’s also has a playground and basketball court for kids to explore while having a sweet treat. Casual eateries include Pizza Pie and Martin’s Pizzeria, while shopping centers like the Butler Commons and Moraine Pointe Plaza are less than 10 miles away. The shopping plazas include chains such as Target, Walmart, Giant Eagle Supermarket, Home Depot and Sam’s Club.Pre-Apprenticeship Program at Butler Senior High School
The Butler Area School District serves the township and earns an overall grade of B-minus from Niche. Students can begin their education at the B-rated Connoquenessing Elementary School before moving on to Butler Intermediate High School, which receives a C-plus. Butler Senior High School scores a B and partners with Penn United Technologies to offer a Pre-Apprenticeship Program for students in 10th through 12th grade. The program allows teens to visit the company, earn industry certifications and gain hands-on experience in the field of advanced manufacturing.Sports courts and fishing pond at Connoquenessing Borough Park

A paved walking path loops around the park, and anglers can cast their lines at a small fishing pond. On Evans City Road, the Family Sports Center features indoor and outdoor athletic facilities, an arcade and organized sports leagues for all ages. The township’s countryside setting makes it a popular spot for rustic wedding venues like The Barn at Soergel Hollow and The Woods at Eisler Farms, and visitors can sleep beneath the stars at the 40-acre Buttercup Woodlands Campground. Residents are also less than 6 miles west of Krendale Golf Course, which features three 9-hole courses that can be played in different 18-hole combinations.Attractions at the Butler Farm Show and Big Butler Fairgrounds
Residents are close to two of the biggest attractions in Butler County: the site of the Butler Farm Show and the Big Butler Fairgrounds. Located along the Evans City Road corridor, the Butler Farm Show celebrates the county’s agricultural community each August with a week of tractor pulls live music, square dancing and, of course, plenty of farm shows. About five miles north are the Big Butler Fairgrounds, where the Big Butler Fair brings over 100,000 people to western Pennsylvania each year over the Fourth of July. As the biggest fair in the region, its festivities include carnival rides, concerts and a petting zoo.The Connoquenessing Volunteer Fire Company also hosts various community events. Popular festivities include the annual Community Halloween Parade and Costume Contest, which also features food trucks, local vendors and a pumpkin carving contest in Connoquenessing Borough Park. The township is also home to Eerie Acres Farm, which transforms into a haunted house each October with food trucks, bonfires and local vendors.
