21st-century homes along the Cedar River
With an eclectic mix of homes, Elliott is a neighborhood along the Cedar River in Renton, a suburban city known for its family friendly atmosphere and convenient location. About 16 miles south of Seattle, the Elliott neighborhood offers recreation opportunities, easy access for commuters and an increasingly desirable real estate market as the eastern shores of Lake Washington experience economic growth. "Good technology jobs on the East Side are driving up real estate costs in Renton and bordering neighborhoods, like Elliott," says Ben Eklund, Real Estate Broker at Skyline Properties with over 20 years of experience. "With Renton between Bellevue and Tacoma, you can get anywhere for work. It's very versatile and diverse."

Eclectic architecture and spacious lots
While condos and townhouses are commonplace in Elliott, this commuter neighborhood offers traditional, split-level, ranch-style homes. Most residential construction occurred in the early 2000s. While retail and multifamily buildings outline the neighborhood center, single-family homes line the quiet streets and cul-de-sacs in areas like Summerfield, a subdivision featuring well-landscaped lawns and a forest scenery farther east. Prices range from $750,000 to $900,000. Potential homeowners look to the Emerald Crest community for manufactured houses, which cost between $50,000 and $400,000. Multifamily housing makes up a large portion of the housing stock here. Condos go for $400,000 to $450,000, while Townhouses cost between $450,000 and $500,000. Some parts of Elliott may be inside flood zones due to proximity to Cedar River. With a score of 1 out of 10 compared to the national average of 4, this neighborhood also experiences significantly low crime rates.

The Cedar River Trail and a riverside park
The Cedar River Trail is a paved 17-mile greenway that runs alongside the neighborhood, connecting to several riverside parks. Ron Regis Park is a 45-acre green space with a night-lit basketball court and soccer field. Also nearby is Maplewood Park, which provides a quarter-mile paved loop, exercise equipment and hiking trails through a conifer forest. Only about 3 miles west of Elliott, the trail reaches Cedar River Park, Renton's epicenter of community life. It has athletic facilities, a community theater, an aquatic center and a waterpark. Cedar River Park also offers river access for swimming and rafting, and it is a venue for local events like the Renton River Days Festival in July.
