Scenic neighborhood surrounded by convenience.
Miller Court-Arrowood is surrounded by conveniences – the mall, the high school, the interstate and the airport – while sitting on lots large enough to create space and privacy between homes. Roanoke local and Realtor with Mac Westland Real Estate Group Alex Taylor says, “You’re close to the city without being right downtown.” Although it’s within Roanoke’s city limits, the neighborhood feels like the country. Homes sit on large lots and are surrounded by open green space – parks, undeveloped land or their neighbors’ yards. But the southern portion of the neighborhood, just past William Fleming High School and near the interstate, has seen commercial development, providing residents with easy access to things they need.
Welcome to Miller Court-Arrowood, a quiet suburb a few minutes north of Downtown Roanoke.
Miller Court-Arrowood is 18 minutes from Roanoke's famous Mill Mountain, with great city views.

Countryside Park and Countryside SportsPlex
Surrounded by undeveloped land and some houses and townhomes, the neighborhood’s Countryside Park and adjacent Countryside SportsPlex create a lush expanse of green with Blue Ridge Mountain views. Countryside Park was once a golf course; some homes back up to it as they would in a golf community. A half-mile portion of the Lick Run Greenway, which stretches roughly 4 miles from downtown Roanoke to the Valley View Mall, runs through the park, with fitness equipment scattered along the paved path. Kids run around the playground, friends toss frisbees in the open green space and families picnic at the shelter. Countryside Park is adjacent to the Countryside SportsPlex, a six-field soccer complex where the Roanoke Star Soccer Club and other national and regional teams play. There’s also an indoor gym that hosts basketball games and volleyball matches.
Miller Court-Arrowood connects to Roanoke's green spaces through greenways traversing the area.

A shopping center outside the mall includes a Walmart Supercenter and Target. Salem also borders the area to the north, where Taylor says there are a lot of trendy breweries popping up, including Parkway Brewing Company.

A bi-level, ranch-style or split-level home typically costs homebuyers $120,000 to $225,000, while a newer home on a street with a cul-de-sac costs around $525,000. There are also some Colonial-style townhouses, mainly around Countryside Sportsplex, for around $200,000. Condos are also available, ranging in price from $115,000 to $165,000.

7 miles to downtown Roanoke
Miller Court-Arrowood borders U.S. Interstate 581, which leads throughout Roanoke and connects to U.S. Interstate 81, the main interstate in and out of southwestern Virginia. I-581 also leads about 7 miles south to downtown Roanoke. The interstate separates the neighborhood from the Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport, and because of this, there are many short-stay hotels in the area, like the Residence Inn Roanoke Airport. “You don’t really notice the planes,” Taylor says. “Most planes that come into Roanoke City will fly over Danville, up northeast, and turn around to line up with the runway.” Valley Metro buses scattered throughout the neighborhood lead throughout the city via public transit.
