Travel into the city on Kilburn Street or Auburn Street
Central Park’s major thoroughfare, Kilburn Avenue, runs vertically along the east end of the neighborhood. For east-west travel throughout Rockford, Auburn Street runs just south of the neighborhood. Locals are about 2 miles north of downtown Rockford, and the neighborhood is about 93 miles northwest of the Chicago Loop. Residents traveling between the Rockford area and the Windy City will be able to take the Metra line to commute starting in 2027, but until then the area’s closest connection is Interstate 90. Flights departing the northern Illinois area depart from Chicago Rockford International Airport, 7 miles south of the neighborhood. Bus stops for the area are available along Kilburn Avenue, Gilbert Avenue and Liberty Drive.
