Rockford's summer markets and holiday lights shows
Because the community is so close to downtown Rockford, residents can access the city’s local events. “During the summer, the city of Rockford hosts Friday Night Rockford City Market in the downtown river district,” says Rockford native and broker David Try with Century 21 Affiliated. “It’s not just food, its vendors selling their wares. There are games for the kids, too. In the fall, it moves inside to a much smaller venue.” For the Fourth of July, the city hosts three separate parades and live music in Davis Park. The day ends in a 30-minute fireworks show synced to music. In the winter, Sinnissippi Park hosts a free drive-through holiday lights show every Thursday through Sunday in December.
