A growing city and suburbs east of Dallas
Hickory Ridge is named after one of the subdivisions within the neighborhood on the eastern edge of the city of Rockwall that showcases the growth of the city. “I consider Rockwall to be a relatively new town,” says Reggie Walker, who has been a real estate agent with eXp Realty since 2019. “While it is an old town, everything in Rockwall is new.” Rockwall was first established in 1854,but Walker says that it’s only in the past 30 years it has grown into a city. The city's growth is evidenced by the houses and subdivisions still being built and sold. To the east of Hickory Ridge, the Terracina Estates subdivision was mostly completed in 2023, although some homes are still being built. Hickory Ridge also has a crime score of 1 on the CAP Index, lower than the national average of 4.
