Additionally, I-70 is accessible from Butler-Tarkington, running east-west and connecting Indianapolis to cities such as Columbus, Ohio to the east and St. Louis to the west. I-465, the loop around Indianapolis, is also nearby There is also access to two IndyGo bus lines and the Rapid Transit Red Line, for public transportation.There are efforts to improve travel in the area. Fox59 Indianapolis reported in March 2024 that the Indianapolis Department of Public Works will begin renovating the 16th St. bridge over the White River during the summer. The bridge, built in 1946, has significant wear and tear. The project will start with the substructure and riverbanks, with full lane closures expected in June 2025. To avoid disruption, the nearby 30th St. bridge, under construction since 2022, is expected to reopen by May 2025.. “Work on the 30th Street bridge might have stalled,” Fujawa says. “There are a lot of weeds growing up on site suggesting a lack of activity.”
