City convenience and warm weather in Rose Lodge
Rose Lodge is a small inland community located just east of the Oregon coastline. Residents can enjoy living near the Salmon River and several trailheads. "People like it because it’s a pretty tight knit community, and they look out for each other often. It's also a bit more rural so you don’t have all the city noise or tourists and it’s gorgeous. The river is right there, and it's great for fishing, kayaking, hiking," says Robyn Tanner, broker and owner of Beachside Realty, who previously sold in Rose Lodge. The neighborhood also has a number of small businesses and convenient access to the highway.
Ranch-style and Craftsman homes by the Salmon River
The residential areas in Rose Lodge largely consist of one-story properties that share ranch-style and Craftsman elements, like distinct pointed roofs and shingle siding. Many homes are shaded by plentiful tree life and come with outdoor decks that overlook the river. Homes range between $250,000 to $700,000. “There are more options for acreage, one to ten acres on average, and parcels can get up to almost 100 acres,” Regen says. Lots of homes are located right by the Salmon River, making them riverside retreats. Homes remain on the market for about 31 days on average. It is important to know that data from First Street reports that Rose Lodge has extreme risk from flooding and severe risk from air quality.
Casual restaurants, coffee shops and antique shopping
Zeller’s Riverside Bar & Grill serves casual grub in a no-frills dining space with outdoor tables, line dancing and live music twice a week. Otis Pizzeria, located off Highway 18, has a history of hosting several eating contests, making it both an interesting and convenient roadside spot. Wyldfire Coffee Company is a local coffee roaster that not only serves java but also colorful concoctions like green apple slushies and pineapple lemonade. Groceries can be picked up at the Safeway in Lincoln City Plaza, where more shops are also available. In fact, Sue Bear’s Attic is a treasure trove of collectibles and antiques.
Schools zoned for Rose Lodge
Students may attend Oceanlake Elementary School, which teaches kindergarten through second graders and has a C-plus from Niche. Taft Elementary School is for third through sixth grade and has a C. Taft Middle/ High School includes grades seven through twelve and holds a C. It also offers robust baseball and disc golf programs.
Rivers, trails and lakeside recreation
Rose Lodge is surrounded by natural beauty, from rivers and waterfalls to forests and hills. The Salmon River winds through the neighborhood, making for serene views. Eleven miles southwest of Rose Lodge, Cascade Head awaits with several trailheads and wildflower meadows. Plus, it is a gathering spot for seals to sun on the rocks. For more outdoor recreation, Devils Lake offers 685 acres of lake for fishing, kayaking and jet skiing, and is only 11 miles away.
Traveling Highway 18, public transit and nearest medical services
Highway 18 stretches as far west as Lincoln City and runs as the main roadway through Rose Lodge. The road is also fed by Bear Creek, where the historic Drift Creek Covered Bridge is located. Residents can also use public transportation thanks to the North County line that makes stops along Highway 18 and N Panther Creek Road. The neighborhood is a 13-mile drive to Lincoln City and roughly a 50-mile drive to Salem, the state capitol. The nearest hospital is Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital, which is about 10 miles away.
