A friendly, farming community in Southwest Oregon
Lookingglass is a rural community of less than 700 where people are naturally friendly to one another. It’s a family farming town where daily essentials come from farms instead of supermarkets. “It’s a cute little rural town. If your car breaks down, someone is going to help you,” says Esther Guarino, a Broker/Realtor with Trueblood Real Estate who has lived in the Roseburg area for nearly a decade. Located 7 miles from Winston, the closest city, Lookingglass also has its own namesake elementary school attended by nearly all local kids. The area is known for its a strong community feel, says David Jaques, Broker/Owner of Al Pine Real Estate 1 and a four-decade resident of the area. “They have a volunteer fire department that a lot of people participate in,” he says.
The Lookingglass neighborhood spans from Oregon hillsides to a valley once full of dairy farms.
