"And it's walkable from most of the Springfield area." In sixth grade, students can attend B-minus-graded Coyle Middle School. Rowlett High School is the nearest school for ninth through 12th grade and earns a B-plus from Niche. Rowlett High offers a dual credit program, where students can take courses that count for both high school and college credit. For those looking for outdoor adventure, the Rowlett Creek Nature Preserve -- with its 97 acres of woods, meadows, creeks and off-road biking trails -- is just west of Springfield. Also in Springfield is Valentino’s Ristorante Italiano, which serves Italian favorites like shrimp scampi and spaghetti Bolognese. Just south of Springfield is Main Street of Downtown Rowlett, which has shops and restaurants for locals to peruse. Springfield is just 2 miles from the President George Bush Turnpike, providing residents access to much of the Metroplex. The City of Rowlett hosts a selection of community events each year that bring the city together. One such event is Rowlett’s Family Campout in April at Pecan Grove Park.
