Amber Glades Estates is within 12 miles of both Tarpon Springs and Clearwater Beach. Downtown Tampa is 20 miles east. The nearest medical center, Mease Countryside Hospital, is 2 miles north.

Popular parks include Safety Harbor Waterfront Park, which connects to a boardwalk, the Veterans Memorial Plaza and a marina; Safety Harbor City Park, home to a dog park; and the 8.6-mile Folly Farm Nature Preserve, popular with young families for its farm animals and butterfly gardens. The nearby Safety Harbor Community Center offers a pickleball court and fitness classes.
