The only gated community in Saint Augustine Beach
In Marsh Creek, a neighborhood just west of Saint Augustine Beach on Anastasia Island, residents have a quiet place to return to following all-day fun. The neighborhood is the island’s only gated community, and though it contains Marsh Creek Country Club, joining the club is optional. The community is located near several beaches and is a short drive from Saint Augustine’s historic downtown and expansive parks, making it an attractive option for people who like being out and about. "There is an active lifestyle here,” says Peggy Gachet, a broker associate with Watson Realty Corporation who lives in the community. “It’s almost more like an island club than a country club.”

Mediterranean-influenced homes and tall trees
Many Marsh Creek homes have a Mediterranean influence, with stucco walls and tile roofs, often orange or gray. Tall palm and oak trees line the neighborhood’s front yards, and long driveways give ample room for parking. Though the neighborhood does not have sidewalks on many streets, roads are wide enough for the community’s active residents to walk or jog. Patio homes, around 2,000 square feet, typically range from $530,000 to $760,000, while other homes usually range from $650,000 to $1.8 million. Gachet says the northwest corner of the community is filled with newer homes that tend to be more expensive.
Northeast Corner homes are the newest additions to Marsh Creek.

Golf among pine trees at Marsh Creek Country Club
Marsh Creek Country Club has an 18-hole golf course designed by 10-time PGA Tour winner Mark McCumber. The course’s nearly 7,000 yards are set in marshlands and surrounded by pine trees. The club also has a Tennis and Fitness Center with 10 courts, and a pickleball social hour is held twice a week. Outside the community’s gates, beach access via the Ocean Hammock Park Walkway is about 2 miles away. The Saint Augustine Lighthouse and Maritime Museum offers a view of the area from atop the lighthouse’s 219 steps. The Saint Augustine Alligator Farm Zoological Park, which is more than 100 years old, has various wildlife shows and zipline courses that cover the grounds. Anastasia State Park has 1,600 acres to explore, plus canoe and kayak rentals for use on Salt Run lagoon. Residents can also visit downtown Saint Augustine to explore the city’s numerous museums and shops, though Gachet says the roads can get busy during the holiday season. At all times of the year, the city’s Bridge of Lions is raised every 30 minutes, letting boats pass but stopping car traffic.
