Novak Park is a popular neighborhood in the St. Charles suburb
When you’re ready to leave city life behind and settle down in a beautiful suburban neighborhood, Novak Park is sure to impress. “We are getting a lot of people coming out of Chicago, and St. Charles is one of the destinations they’re going to,” says Marsha Wallace, a broker with Fox Vally Real Estate who has over 30 years of experience. In 2023, St. Charles was ranked on the “15 Most Charming Towns in Illinois” list by the magazine Trips to Discover.
Winding streets and landscaped lots near downtown St. Charles
Roughly four miles from downtown St. Charles, Novak Park embodies its best features. The neighborhood is full of winding streets and long driveways that lead to stunning properties. Each home has sprawling, well-kept landscaping with tasteful trees. Whether you’re a business professional, a family of five, or aging into retirement, there’s a home to suit your needs in Novak Park. This neighborhood is filled with houses of various sizes, styles, and prices. Multi-level craftsman homes with two garages and pointed roofs can be found on the same street as full brick colonials, all within the price range of $550,000 to $850,000. Closer to Fox River, you can find smaller split-level and ranch-style homes for $250,000. Some of these properties back right up to the river and are located in a densely wooded area. In other regions of the neighborhood, riverfront properties with majestic mansions and manicured lawns can go for over a million.
Novak Park students attend highly rated schools
If you’re moving in with little ones, you’ll be happy to know that the Novak Park neighborhood filters into St. Charles Community School District No. 303 and has access to some of its best schools. Wild Rose Elementary has an A Niche Grade and offers an Academically Talented (AT) program in both math and literacy. Wredling Middle School was ranked No. 1 for Best Public Middle Schools in Kane County by Niche in 2023 and boasts above-average test scores. Your child can finish off their education at St. Charles North High School, where its dual credit programs and 98% graduation rate almost guarantee success for its students.
Fox River Bluff Forest Preserve offers hiking, biking and sports
When you need a breath of fresh air, Fox River Bluff Forest Preserve is right in the neighborhood and has something for everyone. As one of the few off-leash dog parks in Novak Park, people love bringing their furry friends to run and play on the 67 acres of green space. More active visitors can walk or ride along the hiking and biking trails. “Some of the bike paths in St. Charles go all the way up to Wisconsin,” Wallace says. Find a quiet spot to fish along Fox River. Not too far away, Rivers Edge/Reserve Park has more recreational activities to participate in, including a basketball court and lacrosse field. Its giant grassy field is great for tossing a frisbee or playing with pets.
Restaurants range from gourmet burgers to English pub fare
For all your daily shopping needs, Silver Glen Crossing is directly above Novak Park. The shopping center has everything from banks and beauty salons to self-care services. Angelo Caputo’s Fresh Markets South Elgin location has a bakery and meat counter on top of its regular grocery shopping and in-store food pick-up. Right next door, AJ’s Java Joint is the first sugar-free coffee shop and keto retail outlet in the region. Keep driving north to reach South Elgin Commons and shop at familiar retail chains like Target and TJ Maxx. There is a plethora of restaurants in both common areas, including the English pub-style restaurant The Village Squire. Try one of their gourmet burgers and listen to live music on weekends.
Novak Park fits the bill for beautiful suburban living
If you’re ready to find your forever home, Novak Park has plenty of properties in a beautifully suburban area that will check off all your boxes.
