When heaving the 1.5 miles to downtown St. Charles for restaurants and events, residents can just take Main Street. Geneva Road runs along the river and connects residents with the other downtown, about 2 miles away. The Jalapeño Grill offers Mexican fare featured in the Chicago Tribune. “Nighttime entertainment is great here,” Jones says. “There’s a place—the Arcada—that brings in some really cool music acts, and there’s tons of bars that you can walk to from one to the other.” In Geneva, The Local Burger serves classic American burgers and shakes but features a milkshake of the month with flavors like tres leches. For groceries, residents can drive just 1.8 miles down Randall Road or Lincoln Highway to stop at Meijer, Jewel-Osco or Costco.
