Entrada's red rocks and country-club community
In Entrada, there’s scenery fit for the movies — it has, in fact, been the set for multiple films. “It’s in an area that's our Sedona, so it's got the red rocks and really pretty Western movie backdrops," says Realtor Shane Wood who works with Equity Real Estate and has over 30 years of experience in the area. "The houses have great views of the red cliffs around them. Right there you have a view of the big Red Mountain, and on the side is movie rock, where they shot ‘Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.’” The neighborhood, located in St. George, was also the main location for “High School Musical 2,” much of which took place in the Entrada at Snow Canyon Country Club. Upscale golf courses set the stage for much of daily life as well as renowned sports events: “It's a gated community that’s going to be right next to Black Desert Resort, where the LPGA and PGA Tours are now,” Wood says.

Entrada at Snow Canyon Country Club is a private 18-hole course featuring panoramic vistas of red rock and basalt formations. “It is a private community, so with the HOA, you got an elaborate facility," Wood says. "There’s a really nice restaurant with a convention wedding area right next to the course and red mountains behind you — it's an incredible place." Entrada Wellness Center houses a spa and more recreation options: “There’s an athletic club with pickleball and tennis courts, locker rooms, a masseuse and a really nice gym,” Wood says. For hiking, Snow Canyon State Park borders the north and east sides of the community. Locals can take the park’s Johnson Canyon Trail to explore more red rock scenery, including the canyon, boulders and an arch.

A gated community in St. George with contemporary homes
Northwest of downtown St. George, Entrada is full of cul-de-sacs and winding roads of contemporary single-family homes. Most of them have views of Red Mountain, Snow Canyon and the golf course. Speaking of which, all residents have access to the country club. “It is high-end, and they do have amenities there," says Allen Reid, Realtor at RE/MAX Associates who has nearly two decades of experience in the area. "It’s not age-restricted, but Entrada does have indoor and outdoor pools and tennis. It’s more restricted by prices.” Three-bedroom homes range from $700,000 to $3.3 million, while mansions range from $7 million to $8.5 million. Some smaller Entrada homes range in price from $550,000 to $650,000. Buyers can expect to pay between $1,500 and $3,500 in homeowners association fees annually. The market is seeing more action lately: “It's pretty stable, but the new golf tour coming to town is making it more popular,” Wood says.
