The heart of St. Louis Park
Home to its high school, library and community center, Lenox is the heart of St. Louis Park, an established Minneapolis suburb with highways that make it easy to get in and out of the city. Here, 1940s bungalows built along densely gridded blocks keep parks and restaurants a short walk away. During the day, residents stay active with arts and fitness classes, book clubs and library story times, and after hours, they go bowling, play tennis at the high school and bring their pups to patio happy hours. Buzzing and social, Lenox is fit for those looking to join a tight-knit community while living a short drive away from the center of the city.

1940s bungalows and newer condos
According to Realtor Gary Metchnek, who has more than 20 years of experience in Twin Cities real estate, “St. Louis Park was built out in the ‘40s, ‘50s and ‘60s during a post-World War II boom,” so most of its housing originates from that era. “There’s been some new construction going on, some new townhouses and condo complexes,” says Realtor Michael Kootsikas, who’s sold in the area for nearly 10 years. “But the land isn’t much there anymore — it’s all been gobbled up.” The neighborhood’s single-family homes are generally small bungalows with understated exteriors, often brick or aluminum siding in neutral tones. Interior renovations are common, and some have added on to create more space for growing families. Lenox is home to West Oak Condominiums, a 2007-built condo complex with 75 units and amenities like a party room, gym and shared patio space. Prices in Lenox start around $250,000 for a small two-bedroom house or condo and reach $700,000 for a large four-bedroom remodel. Most prices fall between $300,000 and $500,000, and homes in Lenox generally cost less than the Minneapolis metro area’s average.
