A St. Pete community near the beach and a variety of amenities
Less than 2 miles east of the Gulf Coast waterfront is Crossroads. The St. Petersburg community is favored for its proximity to outdoor recreation, and it’s surrounded by shops, dining and entertainment. “Crossroads is a small community, but it's close to tons of shopping,” says Denise Antonewitz, a Realtor with Keller Williams St. Pete Realty. “Tyrone Square mall is very close, along with a lot of restaurants, and it has a high walkability score. It’s also only minutes from the Treasure Island beaches.” A main thoroughfare connecting to Highway 19 gets residents Downtown in 6 miles and St. Pete Beach in less than 4 miles.

Shops and dining in every direction
Crossroads residents can walk or bike to shopping and dining, most located off 66th Street, but multiple shopping plazas surround the neighborhood. Anchored by Publix, the Shoppes at the Royale is in the southwest corner and offers Orangetheory Fitness, an emergency vet care center, a chiropractor, and CD Roma, a casual Italian restaurant with a patio known for its chicken marsala and sangria. Crosswinds Shopping Center is directly north of here and has Michael’s, Marshall’s and the clothing store bealls. Marketplace Shopping Center is next door to the Stones Throw Condominium complex in the northwestern corner of Crossroads. Athenian Garden is located here, a local favorite for sandwiches, gyro wraps and spanakopita. The sprawling Tyrone Square is north of the neighborhood and has department stores JC Penney and Dillard’s, along with other retailers like Old Navy, Five Below and Dick’s Sporting Goods, as well as restaurant chains. Mr. & Mrs. Crab is a no-frills neighborhood favorite that is popular for its seafood boils and house-made crab seasoning. Kobe Japanese Steakhouse, farther up 66th Street, is a good place for a night out.

Ranchers and amenity-rich condos
Niche ranks Crossroads as the 12th-best neighborhood for young professionals to live in St. Petersburg. The highly walkable, tree-lined community offers a mix of housing options at a lower price point than neighboring waterfront communities. “It’s made up mostly of condominiums and well-established Florida ranch homes built in the 1960s and ‘70s," says Antonewitz. “It’s attractive for anyone looking for affordable living.” Ranch-style dwellings range from the high-$400,000s for a 1,800-square-foot three-bedroom to the high-$600,000s for a 2,200-square-foot four-bedroom. Most houses have multi-car garages, spacious paved driveways and fenced-in backyards averaging around 7,000 square feet. Condos are available in the Stones Throw and Crosswinds Colony subdivisions. Stone’s Throw condos range from the mid-$100,000s for a 700-square-foot one-bedroom to the high-$200,000s for a 1,000-square-foot two-bedroom. Amenities for residents here include a clubhouse, spa, pool and tennis courts. Crosswinds Colony condos range from the high-$100,000s to the low-200,000s for a two-bedroom. Residents in this development enjoy covered parking, a clubhouse, a pool, a playground and a fitness center. All residents are within walking and biking distance of Azalea Park, shops and restaurants.

The 6-acre waterfront Jungle Prada De Navaez Park is less than 2 miles away and sits on the shores of Boca Ciega Bay.
