Less than 2 miles from a vibrant business district
Most shopping and dining options are along Haines Road and the 4th Street corridor, which is less than 2 miles east of Grovemont. Mi Carretta Restaurant and Bakery is a local favorite for authentic Colombian fare, including empanadas, arepas and breads. Next door, Dissent Craft Brewing Company is the go-to for a night out with its selection of beers and board games. Stone Soup Cafe & Pub is a no-frills spot for sandwiches, craft beer and hearty soups like cactus chili and clam chowder. Locals also rave about their roast beef sandwiches and Reubens. It’s a neighborhood hub, and it’s super popular for lunch,” says Jessica Salmond, a five-year resident of the neighboring Harris Park community. “It’s family-friendly, but they have a bar as well.” Publix, Trader Joe’s and Fresh Market are along the busy 4th Street corridor. Historic bungalows and ramblers
The tree-lined neighborhood is mostly filled with Craftsman-style bungalows and ranch-style houses. Prices range from the low-$300,000s for a 1,300-square-foot three-bedroom to the low-$600,000s for an 1,800-square-foot four-bedroom. Most homes were built in the mid-1950s, however there are some that date to the early 1920s. There are also some modern builds constructed in 2023 and 2024. Modern properties start in the high-$700,000s up to the mid-$900,000s for a four-bedroom, depending on size. Kiwanis Park is south of Grovemont in the Harris Park community and is a popular picnic spot with a playground and basketball court. “Many families come here; it has an outdoor gym and shelters to rent,” Salmond says. Roberts Recreation Center is within walking and biking distance of Grovemont and offers basketball leagues, pottery and dance classes and before- and after-school programming for youth. Less than 2 miles north, Lynch Lake Park provides shaded picnic space by the water and multi-use trails. The 400-acre Sawgrass Lake Park is 3 miles north and has one of the largest maple swamps on the Gulf Coast. It’s popular for hiking along its nature trail, bird watching and viewing other wildlife atop its observation tower. The family-owned Mainlands Golf Club is 4 miles north and has been a staple in the area for over 50 years. The public club offers an 18-hole course, a practice green, a pro shop and a snack bar. St. Pete’s Pier is 5 miles east and provides 26 acres of waterfront parks, fishing and boating opportunities.

Home to the top school district in the Tampa area
Pinellas County Schools serves the area and is ranked the top district in the Tamp area, according to Niche. Students can attend John M. Sexton Elementary, which offers STEM and news clubs, has a B rating from Niche, followed by Meadowlawn Middle, which earns a C-plus. Kids can finish their primary education at Northeast High School, which scores a B-plus and offers soccer and cross-country teams.
John M. Sexton Elementary School serves students in grades Pre-K - 5.
