A quaint St. Pete community close to Downtown and beaches
Sandwiched halfway between Downtown St. Petersburg and Suncoast Gulf beaches is Tyrone Gardens. Though primarily residential, the quaint, square-shaped community is at the center of all the action. “The convenience factor is a big draw for people,” says Ken Rogers, Jr., Realtor for Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Properties Group—St. Pete Beach. Rogers has served the area for over 35 years. “It’s a great neighborhood where people know each other, and they like it because they can get to work or shopping easily. I think it’s a perfect blend of quiet residential and convenience to the city.” With a major thoroughfare running through the neighborhood, residents are 5 miles from Downtown, a vibrant shopping and dining district and Tropicana Field to the east. St. Pete Beach, Treasure Island and Gulfport’s lively Waterfront District are 4 miles west.

Ramblers for under $500,000
Towering palms and oaks line Tyrone Gardens’ quiet, wide streets. The neighborhood is primarily filled with ranch- and prairie-style homes. “The price points are great for the area,” says Rogers. “The prices in Tyrone Gardens are way below what you find closer to Downtown or the waterfront.” Most homes were built in the early 1950s and range from the low-$200,000s for a two-bedroom over 800 square feet to the low-$400,000s for a three- or four-bedroom over 1,900 square feet. Few homes have garage parking, but driveways and streets are spacious, allowing plenty of room for multiple cars or boats. Most homes sit on lots of around 7,000 square feet, but a few stretch up to a quarter-acre with tropical landscaping and fenced-in backyards. Residents are within walking distance of Tyrone Park.
