Niche ranks Venetian Isles as the fifth-best neighborhood in St. Petersburg to buy a house and the seventh-best neighborhood in the city. The palm-lined deed-restricted community is filled with over 500 ranch-style homes, Spanish and Mediterranean-inspired houses and modern builds. The unique shape of the neighborhood, with deep-water canals winding in between each man-made island, allows all residents to have a waterfront home. Most homes were built in the early 1970s and range from the low-$400,000s for a three-bedroom more than 1,900 square feet to over $2 million for a four-bedroom property more than 3,000 square feet. There are also some newly built modern homes priced from around $5 million to over $9 million for a custom-built six-bedroom estate. “One of the things about the neighborhood that you don’t typically find in other places is the range of prices,” says Henning. “We see first-time homebuyers up through second-home owners who want to buy here because of the range of prices and the amenities.” Most homes have multi-car garages, spacious brick-lined driveways, backyard in-ground pools, and almost all residents have boat docks. Residents also enjoy large lot sizes, with the average around 10,000 square feet but most stretching over a quarter acre. Condos are also available in the Lake Overlook subdivision, ranging from the high-$100,000s for a one-bedroom to the low-$200,000s for a two-bedroom more than 1,000 square feet. The condo complex offers a community pool, clubhouse and fishing pier. All residents have direct access to the bay and are within walking distance of Shore Acres Mini Park. The neighborhood is also in a no-flood zone because it’s elevated 7 feet above the natural shoreline.A homeowners' association that celebrates
