Canyon Rim has single-family homes built primarily between the 1940s and 1960s. Its architecture offers a charming mix of cottages and ranch-style homes with a few mansions and townhouse communities. "Because it's an established neighborhood, you get mature trees," Granasen says. "Even though you're close to the freeway, you don't get a ton of freeway noise. You get great mountain views, and it's a flatter part of town that's more walkable." Home values here are more than $100,000 higher than the average for Salt Lake City. Sales prices concentrate primarily between $600,000 and $1 million, but large new builds and recently renovated homes sometimes see price tags upwards of $2 million.Home to Utah's second-best public elementary school
