Leon Creek Greenway leads the way
O.P. Schnabel Park connects to the 20-mile Leon Creek Greenway, which runs throughout the city and connects to several other parks and greenspaces. “The trails on the greenway are all paved and they’re great for biking and long runs. It’s a really popular area with the locals,” says Michael McCall, Realtor with JBGoodwin, Realtors and founder of the Live in San Antonio Home Group. The greenway can also be accessed via the MainLand Trail Head. Golf enthusiasts in the neighborhood can find solace at the nearby Mac Vylie Golf Center, just a stone’s throw from Schnabel Park. “The Medical Center is also fairly close, and residents really appreciate that convenience,” says McCall, who grew up just outside of Seguin and moved to San Antonio after graduating from Texas A&M University.

For groceries and other daily essentials, the neighborhood’s Walmart Supercenter is located near the MainLand Trail Head. There's also an H-E-B just west of the neighborhood near Nani Falcone Community Park. For a taste of Texas seafood, Smashin Crab is located just off Bandera Road and is known for its signature Lobsta Pasta, hurricane flights and take-home boil kits.
Valero Alamo Bowl brings the football fans
San Antonio is full of exciting things to do, and French Creek residents can take advantage of all of it. The Briscoe Western Art Museum’s Wild West Wildlife Festival is a family-friendly event full of animal-theme crafting, interactive sessions with Texas wildlife and live demonstrations.
HWY 1604 and Bandera is the main highway to take when living in French Creek.
