Hidden Oaks Estates streets include country roads and cul-de-sacs which take drivers past sprawling estates and spacious ranchers. Schools here are part of the Judson Independent School District. Wortham Oaks Elementary in the northern end of the neighborhood opened in 2019 to serve its namesake subdivision. Other area schools include Rolling Meadows Elementary School, rated B-minus; Kitty Hawk Middle School, rated C-plus; and Veterans Memorial High School, rated B-minus. Veterans Memorial is situated within the southern end of Hidden Oaks Estates, offering a robust fine arts department and several technical pathways, including business and public service.

Hidden Oaks Estates is just minutes from Highway 281 and Loop 1604, offering direct access to the rest of the metro area. There are currently no bus stops that service the community, but many homes are within walking distance of Carriage Cape Park. The nearest university is the University of the Incarnate Word, about 6 miles south and the nearest hospital is at Live Oak Medical Center, 9 miles south. San Antonio International Airport is 16 miles southwest. It’s about 26 miles for those commuting to Joint Base Camp Bullis.
At the southern tip of the community, Rolling Oaks Mall offers more shopping and dining.

Residents can drive about 3 miles west to Sprouts or 5 miles west to Target, the latter of which is located within the Village at Stone Oak, an outdoor shopping center. At the southern tip of the community, Rolling Oaks Mall offers more shopping. Locals can head to Sonic for fast food, Panfila Cantina for Mexican fare, or Jim’s for cakes, pies and comfort food.
Residents can enjoy a sunny day at TPC San Antonio for a round of golf.
Golfing and enjoying nature
When it comes to outdoor recreation, Carriage Cape Park has a pool, community center and playground. Additionally, Hidden Oaks Estates is surrounded by Cibolo Bluffs Nature Preserve, Bulverde Oaks Nature Preserve and Bracken-Hill Country Nature Preserve. Morgan’s Camp caters to children with special needs and offers activities such as ziplining, archery and swimming. About 3 miles northwest, the TPC San Antonio Golf Course is one of the highest-rated in the area.
