Preserving history alongside modern living
Hot Wells is rooted in a rich cultural history with a thriving residential community. The neighborhood was originally developed in the late 19th century as a resort destination, attracting wealthy visitors from across the country who sought the healing properties of the natural hot springs. “Hot Wells is an older side of San Antonio, but residents are really in touch with the area’s history preservation,” says Kristen Galloway, who has lived in San Antonio for 13 years. “The city’s been building up that neighborhood, and it’s pretty close to downtown and everything going on there, so anyone who lives there basically has the best of San Antonio at their fingertips.”
