A centrally located community in northwest San Antonio
Along Interstate 10 in northwest San Antonio, Huntington Place is a mostly residential neighborhood situated between retail, major employers and the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). “You can get downtown in like 25 minutes, it’s close to the medical center, and UTSA is not even 10 minutes away," says Amy Kolb, a San Antonio native and Realtor with Kolb Real Estate. "Big corporations have their headquarters in this area, so you’re very close to work. It’s also near Six Flags, and the shopping is fabulous.”

Brick and stucco homes, plus newer townhouses
Aside from several apartment complexes, most single-family houses in Huntington Place are brick New Traditional and stucco Mediterranean properties built in the 1990s and 2000s. There are also some townhomes constructed in the 2020s. Sidewalks line the streets, offering walkability throughout the community. Single-family homes in the neighborhood typically cost between $350,000 and $450,000, while townhomes range from $200,000 to $250,000. All Huntington Place residents are part of a mandatory Homeowners Association (HOA), which costs about $25 a month in dues. The HOA also offers guides for the appearance of homes and yards. Huntington Place has a CAP Index Crime Score of 8 out of 10, twice the average national score of 4. Data from the San Antonio Police Department showed burglary and car thefts throughout the area throughout 2024.

Shopping at The Rim and fun at Six Flags
Huebner Oaks Center and The Rim are two of the biggest malls along I-10, with more than 100 commercial tenants combined, including restaurants and movie theaters. Huebner Oaks Center is 2 miles from Huntington Place, while The Rim is 4 miles away near Six Flags Fiesta Texas, the city’s biggest amusement park with more than 60 rollercoasters and water rides. H-E-B, Sam’s Club, Walmart and Costco are all within 2 miles of the neighborhood. The area has many national and regional restaurant chains, such as Taqueria Data Point and Tommy’s Restaurant. Local spots include Gino’s Deli Stop & Buy on Huebner Road, which is known for its authentic Philly cheesesteaks. There’s also Chicken N Pickle on UTSA Boulevard, where patrons can sit down with a cold beer and stay for a game of cornhole, pickleball or Giant Jenga.

City parks connected by Leon Creek Greenway
A few city parks are in the surrounding Shavano area. Orsinger Park on Huebner Road and Gorrell Park on De Zavala Road both have playgrounds, walking trails and picnic pavilions.
