Just south of Camelot, Midcrown is a mix of old and new. One side houses the planned community of North East Crossings, while the other is lined with the ranch-style homes of East Village, dating back to the 1970s. Within walking distance, schools and parks buzz with kids enjoying outdoor play. Midcrown is within minutes of an H-E-B distribution center and is 10 miles northeast of downtown San Antonio. “It’s a great family community,” says local Realtor Tiffany Dumond with Keller Williams Heritage. “Its proximity to San Antonio makes it a great neighborhood.”

Walk to Cielo Ranch Park
When the kid gets out of school and needs to let out some energy, Cielo Ranch Park is right in the neighborhood on the corner of Cielo Ranch with a green playground. Though the green space is small, it's still where neighbors cook on the grill during birthday parties or hang out with family. Kardon Park on Gibbs Sprawl Road is parallel with railroad tracks. It has a covered, cushioned playground, ball fields and a short walking trail for an afternoon jog.

New construction and older homes
Midcrown Drive splits the community into two distinct neighborhoods — North East Crossing and East Village. Constructed by KB Home, driving onto Tranquil Dawn leads to North East Crossing's brick and stone contemporary new traditional homes. Solar panels sit atop residences that line cul-de-sacs and share a neutral color palette with driveways and two-car garages. Sidewalks meander past fenced backyards, enclosing small backyards with trampolines and playscapes. Residents of East Village are overlooked by the East Village Neighborhood Association, which advocates for the revitalization of their community. These houses offer more of a neighborhood vibe, where ranch-style homes differ from block to block in color and size. Prices can range from $310,000 for a home built in 2016 in North East Crossing to $179,000 for a residence built in 1973 in East Village.
