Regency Place, an unassuming collection of streets just eleven miles away from San Antonio, offers homeowners even closer proximity to San Antonio International Airport. With generous yard spaces in an established neighborhood setting, personal space and quietude are valued here.

Though the cul de sacs of Regency Place are comfortably predictable, their homes’ styles are anything but. Many of these homes, most built in the 1960’s, feature brick or vinyl siding. Ranch-styles and brick-laden bungalows, many of which have pools installed, populate these small streets. According to Realtor Danny Charbel from Keller Williams, those who move to Regency Place “want to live in established neighborhoods” because the older homes offer “larger yards and more charm.”

Take a stroll along the neighborhood’s well-kept sidewalks and the various tree species, from Anacahuitas to Desert Willows. Generous driveways and ample street parking make Regency Place ideal for those with multiple vehicles. For $200,000 to $300,000, snag a home built in the 60s. With renovations made in the 80s, some of these homes are nearly unrecognizable from their former frameworks. If you’d prefer a more modern build in this established community, new construction fetches $500,000 or more.

Also constructed in the 60s is Regency Place Elementary, Niche-rated as a B- for students nearby. To support its diverse student population, the school provides a Family Services Center and Dual Language Program. Students graduating to Garner Middle who are interested in music or can already carry a tune are welcome in the orchestral program. Kids are encouraged to start on their instruments as early as 5th grade. A stone’s throw down MacArthur View, you’ll find St. Matthew’s Day School and MacArthur High School, the latter offering ninety-one different extracurricular opportunities.

After school, kids can dash up the hill to the Capitol Park Baseball fields, a local favorite offering a little league program for kids and volunteer opportunities for adults. When not volunteering, parents can cheer on their kids as they go to bat. Just East of the fields sits Lady Bird Johnson Park, an excellent option for solo recreation. Trail enthusiasts and dog lovers can take a walk and meet others’ furry friends.

A quick bite after walking the dog or attending a game is just that: fast and easy. Encircling Regency Place are a handful of independent restaurant options like Brown Bag Sandwich Shop and The Last Slice Pizza which will have you in and out in no time. The former lists classic options like the Reuben and Philly cheese steak, with combos and desserts available. For those in a hurry, Last Slice offers carry out and delivery. To slow things down or round out your busy week, head to Caracheo’s, next to Last Slice. This locally praised dine-in option serves the best Mexican dishes in town.

With plentiful restaurants, outdoorsy options and sports, Regency Place has a lot to offer those willing to search for it. Tucked away from the airport but still within reach, it might just be what you’re looking for.
