Along with the convenience of sidewalks, Stone Oak also has plenty of bike lanes and walking trails, making it a hiker and biker’s dream. Panther Springs Park and Stone Oak Park are both known for their shaded trails. Panther Springs Park also has a dog park to let canine companions run off some steam. Stone Oak Park has a shaded playground for the little ones to explore and also boasts an impressive outdoor amphitheater for local performances.

Remember (to visit) the Alamo
Though it may be a three-hour drive, history buffs will delight in visiting the Alamo, a historic Spanish mission and fortress compound founded in the 18th century by Roman Catholic missionaries. Residents can explore outside the neighborhood to enjoy a variety of more local attractions like Eisenhower Park, McAllister Park, Canyon Springs Golf Club, the Natural Bridge Caverns and several nature preserves.
Brews and breads
BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse is known for its happy hour, craft beers and deep-dish pizza. The Green Lantern boasts a mellow feel and speakeasy-style in an underground bar serving contemporary cocktails. Visit Kneader’s Bakery & Café for seasonal favorites along with homemade cookies, cakes and breads. Residents can pick up their groceries from Trader Joe’s, Costco and Walmart.North East Independent School District
Students in Stone Oak can attend Stone Oak Elementary, which received an A rating from Niche and serves about 850 students with a student-teacher ratio of 15 to 1. Bush Middle School also received an A rating from Niche and offers a robotics program to its 8th-grade students who are encouraged to apply real-world concepts and participate in competitions. Reagan High School received an A-plus rating from Niche and has close to 100 clubs and student organizations to choose from. The high school is also regularly ranked among the Best High Schools by U.S. News.

Texas travelin'
Stone Oak is only 17 miles north of downtown San Antonio and 10 miles north of the San Antonio International Airport. It has access to the Texas 1604 Loop, which encircles San Antonio and U.S. Route 281, which extends from the Mexican border by the Rio Grande to the Canadian border near Dunseith, North Dakota.
