Rancho San Clemente is a tucked-away residential neighborhood in east San Clemente. Bounded on one side by the inland hills of San Onofre State Beach Park, the neighborhood offers easy access to a large network of hiking and mountain biking trails, and it’s just a short drive to both Interstate 5 and downtown San Clemente. “It’s quieter, it’s private, there’s a lot of trees and a lot of trails,” says Realtor Lisa Wilhelm of Coldwell Banker, who has lived in the area for 22 years. “And it’s pretty close to downtown. Proximity to San Onofre Beach itself is also a major draw — the beach is one of the premier surf breaks in all of California. Many locals have memberships at the Bella Collina San Clemente, a 27-hole private golf course on the north side of the neighborhood. There are also many beautifully maintained city parks in the neighborhood, including the lovely Rancho San Clemente, which is home to basketball courts and a modern playground.

It’s home to a Pavilions supermarket, a Walmart and a selection of restaurants, including the San Clemente location of popular SoCal sandwich shop Board & Brew. Just across the street, residents can take their pick of local breweries, including Artifex Brewing and ROM Beer Company. Additional retail and restaurants can be found less than three miles down the road in downtown San Clemente.
