Cory is an established San Jose neighborhood directly west of the Rose Garden District. Here, you’ll find well-kept homes and have quick access to cultural attractions and major commuter routes. The community is also a major retail hotspot, with the popular Westfield Valley Fair mall right on Stevens Creek Boulevard.
Houses in Cory are nearly all single-family homes, with wide, tree-lined streets and great curb appeal. Local students go to schools in San Jose Unified School District, which has interdistrict and intradistrict transfer options. High schoolers often attend Abraham Lincoln High School, which has strong arts and sports programs and is a National Blue Ribbon School.
Private schools include the TK-8 St. Martin Of Tours School and Bellarmine College Preparatory School, which is a highly rated all-boys private high school. Charter options include Rocketship Ama Academy and Downtown College Prep.
Cory is near many recreational and cultural attractions. The San Jose American Little League ballpark sits in the neighborhood’s center, where locals can constantly hear sounds of home runs and cheering families. “It gets loud, but everybody likes it because it's fun loud,” says Jessica Mills, a Realtor atIntero Real Estate Services, Inc.. “You see a lot of the neighborhood there.” Other outdoor spaces and landmarks include:
One of the city’s largest shopping hubs, Westfield Valley Fair, sits adjacent to the neighborhood, providing over 200 department stores, retailers, restaurants and specialty shops like Eataly. Santana Row, just across from Valley Fair, is another upscale mall with high-end retail and restaurants in an outdoor setting. The place is also a hub for local events, including street fairs, holiday celebrations and the weekly Santana Row farmers market. Big-box stores like Target and Michaels are about 3 miles away in San Jose Market Center.
