A San Mateo neighborhood without too much noise
North Shoreview is a San Mateo Neighborhood set right along the shores of the Bay Area Peninsula. In addition to its waterside location, North Shoreview also offers a variety of parks, highly rated public schools and easy access to the airport without settling for a noisy neighborhood. “You don’t get the plane noise because they fly over the water, not over your house like they do in Foster City,” says MaryAnn Cruz, a Realtor with Corcoran Icon Properties.
North Shoreview boasts scenic views of the bay, perfect for serene evening strolls and nature.

North Shoreview offers an extensive parks system
One of the most prominent parks is Coyote Point because it offers tons of recreational activity. After a scenic drive down Coyote Point Drive, residents can then bike along the eucalyptus trees that line the San Francisco Bay Trail, which extends out from the neighborhood and spans over 300 miles. “They also updated the trail to make it more accessible and safer. There are more park benches plus a wall so that the bay doesn’t flood over,” Cruz says. Windsurfing and sailing are popular down at Coyote Point Beach. Golfers can play 18 holes at the Poplar Creek Golf Course while the castle-and-dragon theme at Magic Mountain Playground makes an exciting setting for outdoor playtime. Harborview Park includes a basketball court, playground areas and picnic tables.

Postwar constructions on large lots
Like many of its Bay Area contemporaries, the North Shoreview neighborhood was established following World War II. As a result, many of the homes were constructed in the late 1940s and early 1950s and some have been updated within more recent years. “Most of the homes are ranch-style with your typical three bedrooms and two bathrooms. There are newer homes as well, but it's usually because someone bought a house and did a complete rebuild," says Susan Berry, a Realtor with Keller Williams Peninsula Estates. Properties sit on large lots, often feature open floor plans and have one-car garages although the occasional two-car garage can be spotted. Costs range between $950,000 to $1.6 million. “It’s an up-and-coming neighborhood and it’s experienced a 20 percent increase in value,” Cruz adds.
