Picturesque Atlanta Country Club Estates is tucked between golf course and river
Atlanta Country Club Estates’ large homes sit at the end of long driveways often decorated with colorful flowerbeds that complement the lush green canopy of mature trees and well-manicured lawns. “It’s a prestigious neighborhood. The draw is four-fold,” says Realtor Juli St George with Keller Williams Realty, who has been selling homes in Atlanta for a decade. Those quadruple benefits include being nestled alongside the Atlanta Country Club’s exclusive golf course, where there is a long waitlist to play on grounds that have hosted PGA Tour events. Homebuyers are also attracted to highly rated local schools and trails along the Chattahoochee River. To boot, interstates traveling to the city are easily accessible. Cyndi Contrucci, a resident and Realtor with Keller Williams Luxury, adds that residents enjoy Cobb County’s tax rates, which are lower than those in neighboring Fulton and DeKalb counties.

Students attend three highly rated Cobb County schools
Atlanta Country Club Estates is part of the Cobb County School District, which earns an A rating on Niche. “The main thing I hear that people like is the schools. We have the trifecta,” Contrucci says. Students attend Sope Creek Elementary School and Dickerson Middle School, both rated A. The A-plus-rated Walton High School has the county’s only certified engineering program and an International Spanish Academy. Nearly 70% of seniors pass at least one AP exam, and the school has a record of exceeding the national average of SAT scores. Students may attend schools outside of those for which they are zoned due to Georgia’s school choice laws.
Dickerson Middle School is ranked #6 in Georgia Middle Schools.

Hitting the links at Atlanta Country Club and hiking at the Chattahoochee River
Many residents are members of the Atlanta Country Club, which is not officially associated with the neighborhood. Fairways stretch through historic Civil War sites on a course recently upgraded with new grass and sub-green coolers. The club also has an Olympic-sized swimming pool, tennis courts and a fitness center. The Johnson Ferry Trail at the end of Columns Drive has a boat ramp and trails that meander through woods along the Chattahoochee River. “A lot of people go down there to train for marathons or hike with their families,” Contrucci says. The McFarlane Nature Park on Farm Road has picnic tables surrounded by 100 species of trees, from magnolias to tulip polars, maintained by a groundskeeper who resides in the property’s farmhouse.
