SJC High serves about 750 students and has a student-teacher ratio of 13-to-1. Families considering private education for their kids can choose between a faith-based or military school in the area. After graduation, kids who want to stay in the area can head to Savannah State University, whose campus is in the community's north end. Savannah State is a public university and is the oldest HBCU in the state. Its current enrollment is about 3,000 students, and it offers four different areas of study: College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, College of Business Administration, College of Sciences and Technology and College of Education.

Take CAT busses to get around
Harry S. Truman Parkway is close and connects to other major thoroughfares, Route 80 and Interstate 516, giving residents access to Tybee Island to the east and the rest of Georgia to the west.
