Updated historic community beside Interstate 516
Tremont Park homeowners live less than 5 miles southwest of downtown, conveniently dovetailed into the Interstate 516 interchange. Originally a family compound community, Tremont is home to many long-time residents and multi-generational homeowners who cultivate a strong sense of community and togetherness. The neighborhood was involved in a three-month beautification effort in 2017 and has maintained its well-kept streetscapes. "There's a lot of restoration happening in Tremont Park," says Ben Barksdale, Realtor at Keller Willams Coastal Area and regular local seller.

Restorations, new builds and beautification in Tremont Park
Tremont Park's residential streets span a narrow two blocks wide and about a half-mile long. The small neighborhood's modest ranch and bungalow designs date from the 80s through the present day and sit side-by-side on midsize grassy lots. Though many Tremont homes are new or restored, the neighborhood dates to the early 1900s, with few era-specific homes remaining. There is also a manufactured home community on the east side of town. Prices range from $150,000 to $275,000, which is much lower than the city average. The market fluctuates from home to home here. Newer and remodeled residences go faster than those that may need a little TLC. "Properties sell anywhere between 30 to 90 days," Barksdale says.
