Updated historic community beside Interstate 516
Tremont Park homeowners live less than 5 miles southwest of downtown, conveniently dovetailed into the Interstate 516 interchange. Originally a family compound community, Tremont is home to many long-time residents and multi-generational homeowners who cultivate a strong sense of community and togetherness. The neighborhood was involved in a three-month beautification effort in 2017 and has maintained its well-kept streetscapes. "There's a lot of restoration happening in Tremont Park," says Ben Barksdale, Realtor at Keller Willams Coastal Area and regular local seller.

Restorations, new builds and beautification in Tremont Park
Tremont Park's residential streets span a narrow two blocks wide and about a half-mile long. The small neighborhood's modest ranch and bungalow designs date from the 80s through the present day and sit side-by-side on midsize grassy lots. Though many Tremont homes are new or restored, the neighborhood dates to the early 1900s, with few era-specific homes remaining. There is also a manufactured home community on the east side of town. Prices range from $150,000 to $275,000, which is much lower than the city average. The market fluctuates from home to home here. Newer and remodeled residences go faster than those that may need a little TLC. "Properties sell anywhere between 30 to 90 days," Barksdale says.
Residents can swing by Jamaica Taste for authentic Caribbean food.
International eateries and chain grocers across Ogeechee Road
Shopping centers stretch across the opposite side of the highway, less than a half-mile from Tremont Park residents. Red and White Foods is the neighborhood grocer, and there's a Family Dollar next door for other errands. Jamaica Taste is the local dining go-to, known for its traditional oxtail dishes and comfortable, casual digs. Coastal Empire Beer Co. is also about a mile from home, a microbrewery with a patio often full of regulars. Savannah's expansive south-side shopping malls are a 5-mile ride away for bigger shops.

Beach High offers one of the district's two Medical Choice programs, built into the four-year curriculum. Several private schools are nearby for buyers interested in exploring education alternatives.

After school at Tremont Park's neighborhood playground
Kids can spend time outdoors at Tremont Park's small setup after school, unwinding on the swings and playground. The Sarah Wade Playground is also nearby, a convenient stop for east-side homeowners. Interstate access near the Amtrak station
With immediate interstate access, commutes are straightforward in Tremont Park. Locals are also convenient to the Savannah Hilton Head International Airport, roughly 10 miles north or 20 minutes away. The Amtrak station is even closer to town, and residents acclimate to the locomotive rumble as trains pass nearby. "The neighborhood is beside a large industrial area," Barksdale says. Distribution centers and warehouses account for a portion of the local economy, along with medical centers like Memorial Health, which is 5 miles away from Tremont Park. Most residents are drivers, but city bus stops are within walking distance for those who prefer a car-free commute.
