Large homes, convenience and tranquility in Greenacres
Greenacres, 28 miles from New York City, is a classic Scarsdale neighborhood that combines convenience with suburban tranquility. “There’s a few reasons why people move to Greenacres,” says Cindy Schwall, a Greenacres resident and an associate real estate broker with Houlihan Lawrence. “There’s close proximity to the train, it’s a walking neighborhood and Hartsdale village has restaurants and a few things to do.” Many commuters use the Hartsdale train station, just outside the neighborhood, to reach the city. Nearby the station is Central Park Avenue, a stretch of commercial activity bordering the small village of Hartsdale, where residents can buy groceries and go out to eat. Children are often seen playing on the quiet streets of Greenacres or walking home from school with their parents. “It’s old fashioned in that way, as much as it can be,” notes Schwall when describing the neighborhood. “There’s a very relaxed kind of vibe with the people that live here.”
