Modern amenities in Old Scarsdale
Old Scarsdale, 26 miles from New York City, isn't quite so old after all. It got its name in 1942 when its neighborhood association was formed, but that was 50 years after the other associations were created. Today, Old Scarsdale is one of the few areas in the city that offer condos and co-ops. The rest of Scarsdale consists mainly of single-family homes. Children can attend Fox Meadow Elementary School while parents commute to work from the Scarsdale train station.
