Plentiful green space and recreation in West Quaker Ridge
West Quaker Ridge, in Scarsdale is 26 miles from New York City, and is known for its highly rated school system, particularly Quaker Ridge Elementary School. “Quaker Ridge is special since it is within the highly ranked Scarsdale School District and is centrally located in southern Westchester County with convenient access to Manhattan and the metropolitan area,” says Angela Manson, an active Scarsdale community resident and associate broker with Julia B. Fee Sotheby’s International Realty. Manson has served in Quaker Ridge Elementary's parent-teacher association and is a volunteer emergency medical technician with the Scarsdale Volunteer Ambulance Corps. The West Quaker Ridge area is close to an iconic Tudor Revival building that houses an outdoor shopping center. Filled with greenery and recreational areas, West Quaker includes the Scarsdale municipal pool and a golf course surrounded by a wooded area. “Quaker Ridge homes tend to have more land acreage than homes ... closer to Scarsdale Village and have an abundance of green space,” says Manson.
Postmodern homes built around 2014
Winding roadways lined with tree-covered, manicured lawns and large homes make up the neighborhood. While most homes in Scarsdale were built in the 1920s or 30s sporting revival architecture, homes in West Quaker have a median build year of 2014. This can be seen in the more modern architectural styles, such as split-level, New Traditional and postmodern, with a few Colonial revivals. Single-family homes range in price from $1.5 million to $4 million.
