It’s easy to be enamored by the scenic views of the Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains in the distance, but the luxury homes and many nearby amenities in the Blue Ridge enclave give residents plenty to admire right at home. Located in northwestern Seattle, this quaint community’s inception dates back to the late 1920s after the land was bought by the founder of Boeing. Now running strong with just under 450 homes, Blue Ridge is a thriving upscale community with an abundance of stunning single-family properties that line the winding streetscape. Michelle Santos, Broker with Compass, says, “One of the cool things about the neighborhood is that it’s all residential, the terrain is filled with rolling hills, so some homes have views of the Puget Sound.” She goes on to say, “It’s very private and secluded,” but still has a great community feel. “You’ll see kids playing in the streets, and sometimes you’ll see residents riding in their golf cars to have dinner with their neighbors.”

Many homes throughout the community were built from the 1930s into the 50s but are all in turnkey condition with modern interior features. Prospective residents can find everything from Traditional Cape Cod homes with plenty of windows to let in natural sunlight, Tudor houses with brick accents, midcentury ramblers and much more. Homes usually are priced in the $1 million range and can reach up to $2.5 million for homes closer to the shore. Though the area is governed by a homeowner’s association, most residents have minimal HOA fees.

There are several community spaces throughout Blue Ridge, including a clubhouse that can be used for parties or events and several outdoor areas. Residents can cool off during the summertime in the community pool, or if you want to practice your swing, there are several tennis courts available for reservation. Parents in the community can take their children to Woodbine Park for some afternoon fun on the playground or the beach park, both only available for residents.

Several highly rated schools in the Seattle Public Schools district are close to the neighborhood. Children will likely start their education at North Beach Elementary School, which offers a rigorous curriculum for its students, including science classes that align with Next Generation Science Standards, providing them with leading practical lessons and content. After graduating from North Beach, students will attend Whitman Middle School, which has an A rating from Niche and offers various athletic programs and extracurricular activities. Ingraham High School has served the community since 1959 and has several unique programs that students can take part in, whether students are getting a taste of the newsroom by joining The Cascade Newspaper or taking part in the school’s performing arts or music programs.

Blue Ridge is conveniently located near Carkeek Park and Golden Gardens Park, two beachside parks along the Puget Sound coast, providing residents with plenty of options for a weekend outing. Several shops and dining options are nearby, with Aurora Avenue North just minutes away. Commuting through the area is easy with proximity to I-5 and proximity to public transportation along Holman Road.

With the peaceful serenity of secluded suburban streets and a picturesque view, there’s not much more you can ask for while living in Blue Ridge.

GreatSchools: The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
