South Eighth Street and South 12th Street also have more local establishments. “It’s a very nice area in general; the lake is right there with lots of fantastic dining, and the city hosts lots of nice events there,” Torres says. Aldi and big-box stores such as Kohl’s are north of the area along Taylor Drive.

Recreational opportunities by Lake Michigan and the Sheboygan River
Located in the neighborhood, Moose Park has a playground, walking paths and an open field. Lake Michigan’s western shore is about 1 mile east of the community, and residents can go surfing at South Shore Beach, and then take a shower and dry off at the adjacent King Park. “People like to be out in the waters,” Torres says. “They can boat and do all sorts of water activities along the Sheboygan River and Lake Michigan.” Sheboygan Lakers Ice Center is open to the public for ice skating, while Golf 365 has simulators and lets people enjoy the sport indoors.
