A small suburban neighborhood on the shores of Lake Michigan, Lakeview is within walking distance of its namesake park, industrial employment centers and local schools. The C-plus-rated Farnsworth Middle offers a range of after-school activities, including Archery in the fall and soccer in the spring. The B-rated Sheboygan South High includes the Red Raider Manufacturing program, in partnership with local manufacturing companies and Lakeshore Technical College. The district opened the $5 million Kohler and Johnsonville Advanced Technology Center in 2016, housing state-of-the-art equipment. Just south of the neighborhood is Sheboygan Christian School, a B-rated private school that serves all grade levels.

Downtown Sheboygan is about 3 miles north. Interstate 43, the main highway in Sheboygan, is accessible about 2 miles away and leads 55 miles south to Milwaukee. Lakeview Park, the neighborhood's namesake, is located on the banks of Lake Michigan. The park features a playground and a bandstand surrounded by pines and grassy fields. On the park's edge, unpaved walking trails guide visitors through the bushes to the lakeshore, where they’ll find sandy beaches and fishing piers. Just outside the neighborhood, Roosevelt Park has basketball and tennis courts. The Above & Beyond Children's Museum, Cosmic Bounce indoor recreation center and a YMCA location are all within 3 miles of the neighborhood.
