Meridian Park
Diverse with colorful foliage and bike lanes
Meridian Park's tree-lined streets pass hedges and colorful foliage in residential areas, while bike lanes and on-street parking reveal the neighborhood's energetic environment. Single-family homes are diverse in Meridian Park, with gardens and bushes perched on landscaped front lawns. These 1950s houses have an average lot size of 7,000 square feet, providing more yard space than the tightly packed properties of Seattle. The architecture in Meridian Park includes New Traditional, midcentury and ranch-style homes. Prices range from $400,000 to $1.5 million for homes over 3,000 square feet. Condos cost between $650,000 and $900,000. "The word is out about the light rail," says Jen Post, Real Estate Agent at Windermere Real Estate Seattle-Greenwood. "Tech people are coming in to buy townhomes, and they can move to a single-family home with a sizeable yard and all of these amenities."PNW transportation destination
Meridian Park has a bevy of public transportation options. Multiple bus services serve the Shoreline area, including the King County Metro, Sound Transit and Community Transit. The Seattle-Tacoma International Airport is roughly 24 miles south. From the neighborhood center, North Shoreline Station is about a mile northeast. The light rail transit opened in 2024, providing an efficient route into the city and other suburbs north of town. "There's only one highway, so traffic is congested, but the light rail puts Shoreline on a unique corridor that can fast-track us to the stadiums and trendy neighborhoods without fighting the traffic," Trost says.Local green spaces and recreation facilities
Cromwell Park has a baseball diamond, basketball court and a loop trail across a 9-acre green space, as well as an amphitheater for its summertime Concerts in the Park series. Ronald Bog Park is a watershed area home to wildlife like otters and great blue herons. A walking trail surrounds the pond and leads through a conifer nursery, while the Interurban Trail is a 14-mile greenway extending from North Seattle through multiple suburban communities. The Richmond Highlands Recreation Center has basketball facilities and programs for local youth. Meridian Park is also minutes from Richmond Beach Saltwater Park, a sandy beach with sunset views.A-rated schools in Shoreline
The Shoreline School District has a positive reputation among Seattle school systems, serving about 9,500 students. Meridian Park Elementary School participates in conservation efforts to recycle and reach sustainable goals in the King County Green Schools Program. Albert Einstein Middle School offers many extracurricular activities. Shorewood High School offers AP classes and college credit through the Running Start program. All three schools in this pipeline earn an A grade from Niche.Restaurants and corner stores on Aurora Avenue
The Meridian Park area leans against Aurora Avenue, a commercial thoroughfare heading north through a sea of corner stores and restaurants. One is Aurora Borealis, an ambient bar with glowing lights and live music. Shay's Restaurant is a vintage American-style diner serving breakfast dishes and beer. "There are tried-and-true restaurants that are unassuming," Trost says. "Some don't look like much, but you open the door and wish you would have dressed up.” Supermarkets are on either side of Meridian Park, including Trader Joe's, on 175th Street, or Safeway, on 15th Avenue.
