If you’re craving an outdoor adventure close to home, East Shreveport has just the spot for you. The Red River National Wildlife Refuge covers thousands of acres of hardwood forest, cypress sloughs, and scrub swamps. In addition to five miles of walking trails, sporting people can hunt, fish, bike and paddle in the diverse habitats of the Red River Valley. Opened in 2012, the refuge has a large visitor’s center, an educational center, and free programming on Louisiana wildlife throughout the year.

In business for more than 80 years, the shop has one of the largest selections of plants, yard decorations and gift décor in the ArkLaTex region.
