It's Ellisville but it's not
Located east of the Snoqualmie River, Ellisville is a quiet neighborhood surrounded by the natural beauty of the Snoqualmie Valley. “On the map, it’s called Ellisville, but it’s the Moon Valley area. We’ll know you’re not from here if you say Ellisville,” says Tonya Eliason, managing broker at the Cascade Team and longtime North Bend resident. The residential area offers people a getaway from the busier section of the city since it’s in a less trafficked section of North Bend. Residents also have several outdoor recreation spots. “There are so many areas,” Eliason says. “We have the Three Forks area and the Snoqualmie River. We can go tubing or hike the trails.”

Adjacent to Three Forks Natural Area
Right next to the neighborhood, the massive Three Forks Natural Area has mountain views, forested pathways and a dog park. The 30-mile Snoqualmie Valley Trail begins in DuVall and ends around the Cedar Falls area; on the pathway, joggers and bikers can pass landmarks like the Snoqualmie Falls waterfall and the Twin Peaks Bridge. Golfers can play a round of 18 holes at the Mount Si Golf Course. More hiking trails are available in the mountains, including Mount Si, which has over 8 miles of dirt trails. Closer to the center of North Bend, Tollgate Farm Park is a 410-acre historic farm property with wildlife like elk and cows. Kids can hang out by the playground or in the fields; walking paths and picnic areas are also available. The Summit at Snoqualmie is 25 miles away for skiing.

Properties have acreage and mountain views
The Moon Valley Area has lots of wildlife and homes shaded by taller trees. “Homes here can have beautiful mountain views and a river in the front yard,” Eliason says. Roads are narrow and don’t have pedestrian sidewalks; lot sizes tend to be larger than an acre. Styles vary from contemporary, craftsman-style homes or ramblers, and prices can range from $1 million to over $2 million. Some areas may experience higher flood risk because of their location by the river. This neighborhood has a 1 out of 10 CAP Crime Score, the lowest rating on the scale and three points lower than the national score of 4.

'Twin Peaks' scenes in Downtown North Bend
Locals can head to North Bend to shop and dine. For decades, Twede’s Café has been a North Bend community staple for its iconic neon signage and old-school retro interior. Besides being a favorite among locals, the café is also popular with fans of David Lynch’s “Twin Peaks,” who travel there to try the show’s legendary combo of a “damn fine cup of coffee” and a cherry pie. Iron Duck Public House, also in North Bend, is a trendy spot with a low-key atmosphere and a large selection of beers and whiskeys. Grocery stores include QFC and Safeway. Bybee Farms is open during the summer months for blueberry picking. The North Bend Premium Outlets have over 30 stores and restaurants, including Nike and Coach.

Interstate 90 is 4 miles south; it travels east to west, reaching Bellevue and Seattle in 27 and 32 miles, respectively. “There’s quite a few people that commute to the city,” Eliason says. “We also have the back route of Highway 202 to reach Redmond.” King County Public Transportation has multiple bus stops around downtown North Bend.
