Halfway between Philadelphia and the Lehigh Valley, you'll find Souderton, a small square-mile town with a big community heart.

Souderton features a diverse selection of homes to fit just about anyone's needs. Closer to the downtown area, you'll find traditional brick and 19th-century Victorian-style row homes ranging from $270,000 to $325,000. In the same area, you can get a four-bedroom American Foursquare or colonial-style twin from the early 1900s, including some with beautiful stone retaining walls, for around $350,000 to $425,000. Single-family homes become more prominent as you head further from downtown, including Cape Cods and ranch-style homes for about $350,000 to $450,000. If you're looking for a home with all of today's modern touches, Souderton has brand-new, three-story town houses within the same price range. You can also live in the more rural section of Souderton in Franconia Township, where various single-family homes come with an acre or more of land, selling for $400,000 to $800,000.

Kylie Harrington, Realtor with RE/MAX, has called Souderton home since 2006. She says, "Souderton is a quaint little town that's walkable with a community that loves to be out and about." Harrington mentions how locals enjoy coming together for local events, such as Third Fridays, hosted by Souderton Connects, which Harrington is a board member of. She says, "Third Fridays is a good time. It's an open street market with music and food trucks bringing townies out to have fun."

The downtown area features a mix of the town's historic homes and local businesses. Pull out your laptop or mingle with friends over a cup of coffee at Broad Street Grind. If you're more of a tea person, stop by Tilly Mint's Tea Room, which offers English-style service. Head to Northbound for a unique dining experience, set up in a century-old train station serving American dishes and local craft beer. Continue your evening with a performing arts show at Montgomery Theater, located in Souderton's old firehouse or catch a film at Broad Theater. And for the cherry on top, end your outing with ice cream from Downtown Scoop.

You'll find dozens more restaurants spread around town, along with big retailers and grocery stores. County Line Plaza has a Dollar Tree and ALDI, where you can get much of your shopping done. And when you need to get a workout in, Planet Fitness is right there.

If you prefer exercising outdoors, Souderton Community Park has a fitness station and paved trails to work on your cardio. Kids can burn off energy at the playground. And during summer, it's packed for Concert Sundaes, a popular weekly event where you can eat ice cream on the lawn while enjoying live music from the park's stage. You can also enjoy the outdoors at West Street Park, a fun place for kids to play on the playground or in the shallow creek.

Local students attend Crouthamel Elementary and Indian Crest Middle Schools, both rated a B or greater by Niche. They'll go on to Souderton Area High School, which has an A rating and is ranked the 70th-best high school in the state. High school students partake in the SAHS Pathway 360° program, allowing them to explore career fields through job shadowing and mentorships.

While about 35 miles north of Philadelphia and 25 miles south of Allentown, you can commute to either city from the quaint, walkable town of Souderton.

I love my little town. There is not much to do but they people here are very kind. During the holidays everyone decorates their houses. It is my favorite time of year. Souderton is the type of place everyone feels safe and at home. I made life-long friends in this town and I will always remember growing up here.

I think Souderton just needs a wider variety of stores, food, and things to do for a growing population.

The area in which I lived was perfect for all kinds of life requirements. I was close to so many amazing people with which I could spend time, while at the same time lived in the perfect location for getting on major highways. This made it possible for me to be employed in other areas on top of the jobs available in my immediate area.

It is very close to everything one would need, however there aren't many unique places that would draw in outsiders
