"A good community with a nice footprint"
The Deerfield neighborhood near Orange County’s south side is a subtle neighborhood, with a mix of young families and retirees showing interest. “When I’m talking to a homebuyer, I try to find out what they’re looking for to make sure I can fit them to a neighborhood,” says Realtor Tony Johnson with Re/Max Properties Southwest, “Deerfield is a good community with a nice footprint: it’s got nice sized yards, it’s great for children, and a lot of families are looking for that versus being closer to Orlando.” The schools are easy to get to, with one being right in the neighborhood, and it’s not hard to find a shop or activity for the whole family to occupy the day. Deerfield has “a small town feel,” Johnson says; it has the makings of a quiet suburb while still being relatively close to the big city.

Homes from the 1980s and 1990s
Deerfield homes were primarily built between the mid-1980s and early 1990s. Ranch and two-story homes are common here, with many homes using triangular shapes to create visual levels. Clipped gable roofs are another typical stylistic choice. Garages are prominent and front-facing and generally have two or three-car capacities. Some homes have brick facades, a less common choice in Central Florida; this is echoed in the brick pillar mailboxes that sit outside most of the homes. Sidewalks are even and flat, and several different species of trees and bushes can be found on lawns and curb strips. Single-family houses in this neighborhood are on the market for $400,000-$550,000. Homeowners who are part of an HOA pay under $50 per month in fees.
