The Orlando Ritz-Carlton’s golf course hosts the PNC Championship, but it is private. The public Arnold Palmer-designed Shingle Creek Golf Club has a Par 72 layout and features a practice facility. Students can start at John Young Elementary School, which has a B-plus on Niche, or Waterbridge Elementary, graded B-minus. They continue to Freedom Middle School, rated B-minus. Freedom High School has an A-minus and offers a journalism and TV production program. Lynx has several bus routes that connect to the community. The #108 service runs on South Orange Blossom Trail, while the #57 has stops on South John Young Parkway. Both roads connect to the Marin Andersen Beachline Expressway to the north and the Central Florida GreeneWay to the south. Restaurants along South Orange Blossom Trail feature a mix of chains and local spots. Brisas Bakery and Restaurant serves Colombian-style breads and baked goods, along with steak and seafood dishes. Kabab King serves Pakistani cuisine, including biryani and tandoori chicken, and has lunch specials. Beirut Bakery and Deli serves authentic Lebanese food and dessert items. Smaller stores and a Walgreens pharmacy are at the corner of South Orange Blossom Trail and Whisper Lakes Boulevard. Costco and Sam’s Club are further north, while Publix, Aldi and Sedano’s Supermarkets are south. Orlando Health’s Orlando Regional Medical Center is 12 miles north of Whisper Lakes.
