Los Altos Parkway is aptly named, as the road runs past several green spaces where the community comes together for outdoor recreation. Canyon Hills Park is home to a wooden, castle-themed playground for kids to enjoy, while Disc Park’s open field is often utilized for games of soccer. At the heart of the neighborhood, Bud Beasley Elementary School’s Maldonado Park not only contains a playground, but also several soccer fields and a baseball diamond. Golf lovers can trek into neighboring communities to play at the D’Andrea Golf Club or the Kiley Ranch Golf Course, where visitors can grab a slice of pizza at the club’s bar after an 18-hole game.

Los Altos Parkway’s young learners begin their educational journey right at home; Bud Beasley Elementary School, which has an A-minus rating on Niche, is located in the heart of the community. While public transit options here are limited, commuters can take U.S. Route 445 into the heart of Sparks within a 5.5-mile journey or downtown Reno within a 10-mile drive.
