Midcentury homes with a view of the lake
Monroe Park West is younger than neighborhoods found closer to the heart of Downtown Springfield, so the homes feature midcentury designs like ranch-style or split level, with a median construction date of 1986. As a result, homes tend to be modern, with open floor plans and more square footage. The newest and largest homes are generally found in the northern section of the neighborhood, many surrounding the artificial lake along Victoria Drive. Though not a gated community, three entry points and a central street limit through traffic and give the area more privacy. Homes start in the mid-$100,000s for some of the smaller models, with prices going as high as the mid-$300,000s as houses get larger and gain exclusive features like a view of the lake.Flora and fauna at Lewis Park and Trails
