Privacy in northern Springfield
Just south of Springfield's famed Illinois State Fair Campground, North End Association Take Two represents an unassuming section of the city with historic homes and a small dose of seclusion. It’s where the streets get narrower, and the trees grow thicker. Nearby monuments such as the final resting place of Abraham Lincoln add a sense of history to the area while keeping it far enough removed to avoid crowds. Below-average real estate prices combined with distance from the city center make the neighborhood an economical choice for those who enjoy their privacy.
Mid-century homes and cottages
Mature trees surround the streets, creating ample shade for cars and pedestrians alike. Homes from the turn of the 20th century mingle with the occasional mid-century model, blending bungalows and Cape Cods with cottages and ranch-style homes. Driveways are common, keeping most streets relatively clear. Prices begin in the mid-$30,000s for smaller homes needing a bit of polish, before peaking in the high $100,000s for larger homes that are fully restored.
