Suburban living north of Lake Springfield
Set in a subdivision between the bustling activity of Springfield's downtown and the broad stretch of Lake Springfield, Trevi Gardens is a blend of suburban charm with a sense of secluded peace and quiet. The area's late 20th-century construction houses are priced significantly lower than the average home price in Springfield, and it boasts access to some of the best public schools in the city. Middle-class families find Trevi Gardens to be a popular choice due to the combination of active HOA and a new public park.
Modern architecture and private streets
With rows of modern architecture and narrow sidewalks, Trevi Gardens is a community of straight lines and culs-de-sac. Yards are smaller than average but well-maintained, per HOA regulations, creating a clean, manicured atmosphere. Some streets in the more exclusive sections of the neighborhood are private, with automated gates ensuring a level of privacy less common in public sections. Despite access to these amenities, houses in the area have an average value that falls in the mid-$100,000s, well below the statewide average that reaches the high $200,000s. Split-level and ranch-style houses are the most common housing styles in the area, with Contemporary Craftsman making occasional appearances. Prices start in the mid-$100,000s for homes with lower square footage and increase to the mid-$200,000s with the addition of more space and amenities like private roads.

An all-inclusive public park
Established in 2004, Southwind Park is a thoroughly modern public park that hugs the southern border of Trevi Gardens. Within its 80 acres, the park contains a lake with three fishing piers, picnic shelters, bocce ball and shuffleboard courts, a 2.5-mile concrete trail and one of the largest playgrounds in the area. Special attention was paid to the park's accessibility during construction. As a result, Southwind stands out as an "all-inclusive" park, with accessibility for those with physical and mental disabilities. Playgrounds feature accessible equipment, interpretative signage is used throughout the park, and features like the five sensory gardens ensure a memorable visit for everyone, regardless of need.

Springfield's top public high school
Students can begin their education at Glenwood Elementary before heading to Glenwood Intermediate School, both of which have a B-plus with Niche. From there, students will attend Glenwood Middle School, which has a B, before enrolling at Glenwood High School, which has an A-minus. Glenwood High was recently declared the best high school in the Springfield metro area by the U.S. News & World Report. "There's a belief across the school district that all students can learn, and we use every resource we have to assure that," says Elizabeth Gregurich, a 34-year veteran and principal of Glenwood Intermediate School. "It's what sets us apart from other schools in the surrounding area."

Deep-fried goodness at Cozy Dog
Opened in 1949, the Cozy Dog Drive-In offers classic diner fare like pancakes, hamburger baskets and their classic Cozy Dog: a hot dog dipped in batter and deep fried, with a recipe they claim to be a local original dating back to 1946. HOA-sponsored events
The Trevi Gardens Home Owners Association is fond of hosting neighborhood events, including National Night Out: an evening of fun and food dedicated to introducing residents to their neighbors and local law enforcement. Southwind Park is a popular venue for both public and private events, including the Walk to End Alzheimer's, which brings in hundreds of participants every year to sweat it out for a good cause.
Easy access to downtown
Interstate 72 follows the neighborhood's northern border, allowing for easy access to Downtown Springfield and St. John's Hospital, both less than 6 miles to the north. 10 miles north is the Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport, and Lake Springfield is found 5 miles south . Sidewalks allow for easy enough walking within the neighborhood, but locals are more likely to be car dependent when it comes to shopping and restaurants.
